Fire Protection System Contractor I is the broadest Florida suppression licence, issued by the Division of State Fire Marshal under F.S. 633.318. It authorises layout, installation, repair and inspection of every fire protection system type except pre-engineered — water-based and chemical/clean-agent alike. The open-book Pearson VUE exam runs 100 questions in 150 minutes at 70% to pass, over the Florida-adopted NFPA editions plus Florida Statutes Chapter 633 and the FAC 69A administrative rules. NICET is not a substitute.
