About the California Fire/Life Safety Technician (Blue Card)
Granted by California Department of Industrial Relations — DLSE Electrician Certification Unit
Required to install, construct or maintain fire alarm and life safety systems for a California electrical contractor (NEC Article 760 and NFPA 72).
Eligibility Requirements
4,000 hours of work for an electrical contractor installing, constructing or maintaining systems covered by the NEC, across two or more work areas (installation counts in full; nurse call, proprietary training, stock room and troubleshooting are capped).
